The Downtown Development Authority of Avondale Estates (DDA) seeks to engage the services of an individual to coordinate events in the Central Business District.  These events include 7 or 8 “Art Walk” events initiated and managed by the DDA, which are held the Second Saturday of spring and fall months, as well as several events initiated by others, and sponsored in part by DDA grants.

DDA seeks to provide consistent support for these events over a period of time, so that lessons learned can be shared across varying events, and economies of scale can be realized in logistics and staging.

Activities before the Event include:

Planning

Promotion & Marketing of the event

Logistics, including procuring needed services and labor

Activities during the Event include:

Coordinating paid & volunteer labor

Solving problems as they arise

Gathering metrics of attendance & participation

Activities after the Event include:

Supervising the take-down and clean-up

Making sure vendors and performers are paid

Gathering “Lessons Learned”

Reporting on Event Metrics and Lessons Learned in a timely manner

THE EVENTS COORDINATOR WILL BE ENGAGED AS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR TO THE DDA.
